ABOUT the
IMMERSE INITIATIVE

IMMERSE is an NSF funded initiative, dedicated to increasing entry points into biotechnology careers for underrepresented minorities in STEM fields. We offer a range of programs and initiatives designed to provide students from LaGuardia Community College (CC) in Queens, NY and from New York City College of Technology (City Tech) in Brooklyn, NY with the skills and experience they need to succeed in the workforce.

City Tech BIB Students

Eligible for either a paid part-time Spring fellowship or full-time Summer fellowship at Schrödinger, a biotech software company based in NYC

Associate's Students

Eligible for a paid 1-week micro-internship at City Tech, including an office visit at Schrödinger's NYC headquarters

Teaching with Schrödinger

Hands-on experience in the classroom related to computational molecular modeling, including use of Teaching With Schrödinger (TwS) software tools, data analysis, and visualization from entry level classes at LaGuardia to upper level classes at City Tech

Online Certification Courses

Level up your skillset with hands-on, online molecular modeling courses using industry-leading technology. IMMERSE participants may take either Introduction to Molecular Modeling in Drug Discovery or Introduction to Computational Antibody Engineering online course, resulting in a Schrödinger certificate and badge for your Resume or CV
